The signal: Anthropic’s claude-plugins-official repository is trending hard on GitHub, signaling a formal push into extensible, plugin-based architecture for Claude.

Why it matters: If Anthropic is standardizing a plugin layer, third-party builders now have a sanctioned surface to ship integrations — this isn’t a hack, it’s an invitation. Miss this window and you’ll be playing catch-up to whoever grabs the canonical plugin slots first.

The pattern I’m watching: Every major LLM platform eventually moves from raw API to an ecosystem play — OpenAI did it with GPT plugins, then Actions. Anthropic doing this officially means the agentic tooling race just got a new front, and the winners will be builders who ship narrow, high-quality integrations fast, not broad platforms.
