Anthropic Open-Sources AI Vulnerability Discovery Framework

Anthropic releases an open-source framework for AI-powered vulnerability discovery — a signal that security tooling is becoming AI-native fast.

The signal: Anthropic has open-sourced a framework for AI-powered vulnerability discovery, and it’s dominating Hacker News engagement today by a wide margin.

Why it matters: Security research has always been a bottleneck — expensive, slow, and dependent on a thin layer of expert humans. Dropping an open framework into the community means thousands of builders can now wire Claude-grade reasoning directly into their security pipelines without building the scaffolding from scratch.

The pattern I’m watching: AI is eating security tooling from both ends — automated attack surface discovery on one side, AI-assisted code review on the other (see also: Open Code Review CLI trending today). The middle — human triage — is getting squeezed fast, and the teams who instrument both ends now will own the workflow in 18 months.

What I’d do with this: If you’re shipping a product with any meaningful attack surface, pull this framework this week and run it against your own codebase before someone else does. If you’re building security tooling, this is your integration opportunity — don’t build what Anthropic just gave away free.
